With thanks to Tim Walker for the reflected image. His exhibition is on now at Somerset House alongside an excellent show of Henri Cartier-Bresson and other street photographers who shoot in colour.

This is a classic image by my friend and colleague Lalo Borja who has a major retrospective show in Bogota, Colombia. Lalo has been photographing around the world for over forty years and has amassed an enviable body of work which is justifiably being recognised internationally. The power and perception of his imagery is down to his keen eye and his knowledge of the tradition of photography, but above all his work reflects his humanity and generous interest in people. Please check out the exhibition at:

This is the first ‘combine’ to roll off the press in my  darkroom that I’ve just finished making at the end of my garden. All chemically produced and collaged together in the enlarger. The images were taken near  The Houses of Parliament a few years ago and  seem to work better combined than seen individually. The process suggests a way of using previously ignored or discarded negatives and puts a fresh interpretation on the original intent. Any connection with the previously blogged image is purely coincidental!

Please click on image, no photoshopery here!

My homage to Eugene Atget who tirelessly recorded the sites of Paris at the turn of the 20th century  through whose work the appearance of the past is preserved.
