This shot was taken a week or so ago and is part of a series recording performances given by Sam Bailey each month for one year. As the piano degenerates Sam will perform and record an improvised piece. Alongside the piano I have placed a 16″x 20″ fibre-based enlargement of this image which will also degenerate and be rephotographed monthly. At the end of the year the work will hopefully be exhibited in the woods and in The Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury. The work of other artists and photographers as well as Sam’s performances can be viewed and heard at http://pianointhewoods.com

Whilst the adults soaked up the last of the sun, the boys explored the underground world of the harbour. One of the very last ‘wild’ places in Whitstable. The low light created a magic world, a concrete and steel temple, a photographers delight as well as a place for adventure.
