This is Antonio who works at the Ico Foundation in Madrid where there are often really interesting exhibitions of photography. I met Antonio last week and he kindly agreed to let me photograph him. The cool downward gaze was my due to my direction and doesn’t reflect his natural inclination to smile. But it is only a photograph after all.
The first image is of the excellent and always surprising ‘Polar Bear’ performing last sunday at The Love Supreme festival of Jazz and Soul in Glynde near Brighton. They are currently my favourite contemporary British jazz outfit. The second (click on the first) is of the singer from a new band from Cardiff called ‘Slowly Rolling Camera’. This photo in the spirit of the woods photos is by Catherine, my talented step-daughter, and I have got to say, a lot more interesting than the shots i took. Its taken near Brighton of a friend when they were camping last week.
